Bishop Steven J. Raica ordained Michael A. Lingaur to a transitional Deacon on June 20, 2020 in Gaylord, Michigan. Michael is the son of Dale and Josephine Lingaur, Sr. and a 2004 graduate of St. Mary School. Michael just completed his 5th year at the Mundelein Seminary in Chicago, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Philosophy and Religion. Michael joined the seminary having already earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Northwood University in Management and Management Information Systems. This spring, Michael and 40 other seminarians traveled to the Holy Lands as part of their studies to visit biblical and historical holy sites to enhance their understanding of the life led by Jesus Christ, his mother Mary, and the earliest disciples. The group left on January 17th and traveled to sites throughout Israel and the Palestinian Territories. In total, the group visited about 95 sites in two months, before their journey was cut short due to the virus pandemic. A reception was held on Sunday, June 21 after Deacon Michael joined Father Bryan Medlin for mass and delivered his first homily to the St. Mary Congregation.
