Every January, St. Mary High School students compete against 20 other schools plus 5 career tech centers in our region at the Business Professionals of America Regional Leadership Conference. The largest of these schools, Midland HS, has over 1700 students and the smallest of these, Breckenridge HS, has 247 students. St. Mary has 70 high school students. Thanks to the excellent leadership of advisor Mrs. Mary Ann Korson, St. Mary School students consistently place in the top ten with approximately 40-45% of those who compete at the regional level advance to the state level! Forty-two students (60% of our high school) competed at BPA Regional Leadership Conference last weekend at CMU! Thank you to our parents and community members who help the students prepare: Mary Dingrando, Bill Feurtges, Nancy Keilty, Paula Korson, Pete Miller, Nancy Moore, Bob Orent, Lori Schaub, & Bob Steiner. *Thirty-one of these students (74% of those who competed) qualified to compete at the state level in Grand Rapids, March 18-21!
